CHANEL is sexy. It works out!

My love affair with Chanel continues as it finds new ways to surprise me.  As I posted a while back, I fell madly in love with Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirifique.  I went back and got it in Ebloui, a cranberry colored shadow that is just killer for fall.  I decided to test out this "long wear" formula today, wearing my face from 11am to 9pm, including an intense CrossFit Woodbury workout.

I started with NARS Pro Primer on the lid, and then used my fingers to apply Ebouli to the entire lid (remember, this is a gel-like cream shadow).  I then used Mirifique, as well as the small brush it came with, to add some shading and a little smoke to the outer-v, as well as using it to line both the upper and lower lashes. And then, blend blend blend!  The camera's flash, I think, causes some lighting issues because you can't see how beautifully sparkley my eye is here, including the liner.  It was gorgeous.

Ok, people.  This is after 9-hours, INCLUDING a 1-hour workout where I ran nearly 2 miles, rowed 500m, and did some other sweet and sweaty stuff. CHANEL IS AWESOME.  There is nearly zero change, there is no creasing, there is no smudging, no running.  It is still as intense and fresh as it was at first application!

I think some kudos need to go to the Maybelline Falsies Waterproof Mascara, as well.  It didn't flake or run AT ALL.  How many mascaras can you say that about post-workout, especially when said mascara costs like what, $7?

Chanel isn't cheap.  $36 for a jar of eyeshadow is not in everyone's budget.  However, if you want to splurge on something that will last you a long time and will be worth what you paid, pick your favorite of the six shades and enjoy.  And that mascara should be in your hand the next time you hit the drugstore!
